Please help with calendar notifications

I like that my google calendar is readily available on the Galaxy S4, BUT, I share calendars with the 2 other people in my office and my phone sounds a very LOUD alarm in my ear whenever ANY of us has an appointment. I wear a bluetooth device and am ready to throw this phone in the fire. It is driving me insane with the constant LOUD ALARM in my ear every time someone has an appointment. I have tried everything to turn these off. I have it set to silent alerts and no alert yet it STILL sounds a LOUD ALARM in my ear every time someone has an appointment.

I am losing my mind with this terrible phone, somebody PLEASE help!

The calendar has its own setting for the notification sound.  To change it do the following:

Tap on the calendar icon to open it.

Touch the Menu button

Select Settings

Scroll up until you see Select ringtone and touch it.

Here you can select the sound that the calendar will play for notifications.
