Beeping heard during call

For the first time tonight, I heard a strange beep during a phone call. It was a brief number 3 or 4 higher-toned beeps and was not audible to the person on the other end of the call. My Galaxy S3 had WiFi turned on, Bluetooth and GPS were turned off, and there was nobody on call waiting. Lastly, my battery was at 30% and was not low enough to trigger an alert.Any ideas on what this beeping might be? Could this be an instance of monitoring? How could I know if my calls were being monitored?

Click on the phone icon at the bottom left of your phone. Then click the menu button then call settings. Click on call alert and then call status tones. Make sure the minute minder is not checked. Hopefully, that is the beeping that you heard and this takes care of it.

I performed these steps and Minute Minder was NOT checked. It doesn't seem that this was the cause of the issue.

I have to ask, do you still hear the beeps when on a call? Does it happen on all calls? If you enable speakerphone, can you still hear the beeps?
