I just got a voicemail from 800-888-9599 saying I was owed $640 and to log on to www.vzw640.com to get my rebate. There is no such website. Is this a scam?
Scam
@Angelika1972I want to help protect you from fraudulent activity! As budone has mentioned, this does appear to be a scam or phishing activity. I would like to escalate this to our corporate security team. Please follow me by hovering over my user name (AnthonyTa_VZW), then send me a Direct Message including your name and wireless mobile number that received the call so I forward this info. Thanks!AnthonyTa_VZWFollow us on Twitter @VZWSupport
Actually linking your name would be a good idea, .
I don't know how to link to stuff on here, OR send a PM. Do you have Twitter or Facebook?

Wish to alert Verizon about the rampaging text scam asking users to visit website URLs all having letters "VZW" followed by 3 digits.
The objective of the scam seem to be to steal account login credentials of Verizon customers.
Verizon need to work with IC3 (FBI) to knockdown the infrastructure of these scammers and disable all the scam URLs and also shut down fresh URLs as soon as someone reports the scam.
We run a consumer support website (SCF) where a number of users continue to report this scam: Please check http://www.scamcallfighters.com/search-phone-VZW-search-scam-3196.html to see the recent list of complaints regarding VZW text scam.
Forward any text message scams to 7726 (SPAM) and follow the instructions.
I got a call from 1-800-600-1228 that said I could get $51 off on my bill if I logged in at www.vzw51.com. Very convincing fake sight that was attempting to phish for my billing PIN.
Just wanted to report that.
call today came from 800-342-1092
Also keep in mind that this fake vzw website looks pretty legit...except for the fact that they ask for the last 4 of your SSN!!!
do not try and log in!!! they will put new phones on your account and call Cuba (at least that's what they did to our account).
And yes, I fell for it last year(dumb I know). Verizon took care of all charges, but what a hassle
ggentry11 thank you for bringing this call to our attention, the security of our customers are very important to us! What information did they request? Was this an one time call or are you receiving it ongoing?AshleyS_VZWFollow us on Twitter @VZWSupport
I just got a voicemail that appeared to be starting mid-message, asking me to go to www.my49verizon.com to get my $49 refund from Verizon. No such website exists. I would have not even investigated further except it said the number this message came from was restricted and had a key symbol next to it, so I wondered if it might actually be from Verizon.
"Verizon cares about you."
FYI.
Definitely another scam.
Hello morwen2, safety and security of account information is a top priority! This is definitely not sent from us. Please be sure not to enter any information or click on any of the links. Thank you for notifying us of this. We have had multiple reports of this type of Phishing scam previously. We appreciate your continued patience.WiltonA_VZWVZW SupportFollow us on twitter @VZWSupport
I got a call just now from 800-911-2233 telling me to go to "49verizon.com" to get $49 off my bill. It's obvious from the kind of clunky language on the "winner" graphic at that site, the fact that the text said that I was one of the heaviest users of Verizon service this month (not even close to possible), and the poor punctuation that it's NOT legitimately Verizon, but it could fool people who don't look closely at it.
I just got the same call but from 800-922-0204. Definitely a scam.
