I am curious. What is the scheduled release date for android 4.3 on the Galaxy S4?
Thank you
There has been no official release date by VZW of 4.3 on the S4.
Maybe a VZW person will come by here and give us a link as where to look for the announcement as to when it will come to the S4 and what parts they are going to let us have when they do release 4.3. I am sure we will also get more bloatware than 10 phones should have as well.
A co-worker just received 4.3 for his ATT GS4 16gb. Talk about rubbing it my face.
Verizion is usually last in offering firmware updates. That being said always be aware of firmware updates that come out as this forum is full of stories of how updates have caused havoc on some other features of their phones. I never upgrade the firmware on my phone when it first comes out. Waiting a couple of months and seeing what repercussions develope from others could save you alot of grief especially if you phone is working well for you now.
I understand your excitement japetty! I don't have any update details however, you can view the latest and greatest Verizon Wireless news alerts here http://bit.ly/n5snpq You can periodically check for any new information. Thank you. TominqueBo_VZWPlease follow us on Twitter @VZWSupport
Yeah, Verizon is last in most cases. I don't believe it will be out until Nov. but thats just my opinion. However Verizon does test it more for glitches rather than just roll it out and I do appreciate that, though I would like it sooner too.
The experience with the Samsung SIII found this to be false. VZW denied there was a problem for at least 2 weeks maybe more. VZW then blamed the issue on Samsung and it was about a month before the issued and update which fixed many, not all the phones which they had not already replaced with a refurbished phone. This took a perfect working phone which people were not having one issue with and made a paper weight out of it for many VZW customers. BTW TominqueBo_VZW it is not me looking forward to the latest and greatest, I learned from the VZW failed update on the SIII to wait a few days/weeks before I do your updates, VZW has not learned how to do updates well. I just made the statement so you would leave that link for the OP and I thank you for doing so.
I totally agree with Klue. My previous Galaxy phone, the Stratosphere, was never right again after a major system update. The problem with delaying the update with that phone was that after saying 'no' to many reminders to do the update, if finally just did it without asking me. I couldn't wait to get rid of a phone which before the update I really liked.
Software updates should only improve your device jrh4054! Do you still have your Stratosphere? If so, what specific difficulties are you having with it?JonathanK_VZWVZW SupportFollow Us on Twitter@VZWSupport
October/2016 If we're lucky.
I am so annoyed to have to wait for updates. Carriers should not be in the business of modifying phones. This needs to stop!
I agree.
Especially now since they are looking for us to pay full price for our phones via Edge or the Device Purchase Plan (I just got a Galaxy Note 3 this way). Phones purchased by these means should have an AOKP build of Android and no bloatware. They should be similar to Google Play Edition phones.
It would be nice to get timely, unfettered updates straight from Google based on our hardware builds, not delayed due to bloatware incompatibility.
So people expect verizon employees to have answers about verizon issues/questions? Think again. Have you ever tried to communicate with someone from verizon on twitter. Much, much worse. I think they're robots.
