I recently switched from an iPhone 4 to an S4 2 weeks ago today. They tell you, you have 14 days to bring it back if you so choose. I'm down to the final hours and am having a hard time deciding. I am still not receiving iPhone user messages, even though I have turned off my iMessage option, both on my iPhone and iPad.
I have read numerous fixes to this issue. For starters, turn off iMessage on all apple devices. Did so on both iPhone and iPad, but still not working. Have iPhone users turn off their iMessage when texting you. This fixed it, but I refuse to make people do this continuously because it's annoying to them and myself. I have read it takes a week to possibly 30 days for Apple to recognize I'm not longer and Apple user, but is this really the case? Also, I have gone to Apple Support and tried to "unregister" my iPhone 4 but the problem is my iPhone doesn't show up as a device to unregister. Just my ipad is shown. Do I need to unregister my Ipad as well? That's not something I'm willing to do since I was told I could keep iTunes with Apple on my Ipad and have an android at the same time (per the verizon rep). Is there something I haven't done yet that's preventing me from receiving their messages?
I am willing to try anything that is concrete and makes sense. Seems like when answering this question throughout the thread, people have 800 different ways in fixing this but nothing is too concrete outside of a "wait and see" approach. I have roughly 8hrs to make the decision to stay with this galaxy s4 or go back to apple. Personally, this phone is leaps and bounds better than the iPhone but at what cost do I keep this phone not knowing if this problem will be resolved?
Thanks in advance for any help.
