Constant Reboots....

Ever since doing the Samsung update earlier this week my phone keeps rebooting... It could happen when I go to unlock it, freezes up and finally restarts. It even happens when it is just sitting on my desk not doing anything! It's however happening upwards of 10 - 15 times per day and extremely frustrating, the phone is useless as this point. Anyone solved this one yet? Trying to avoid a factory reset as I have read elsewhere that isn't really fixing the problem.... Any other suggestions are always welcome I just want to fix this.

Thanks for trying safe mode ChicaNana. That lets us know that no 3rd party apps are interfering with the new software to cause this. At this point I would suggest a factory reset http://vz.to/12EpyVS and try using the phone without apps for a day or two. If no change after the reset, and there is no physical or liquid damage, the phone would need to be replaced thru warranty.

Was this the 4.3 update or the maintenance release prior to it?

It was after the maintenance release when it started... I performed the 4.3 update the day before yesterday and it's still happening with that being done as well...

I have done all of the standard troubleshooting, removing the battery, removing the SIM card, etc, etc.

Yikes! Let's ensure you're able to enjoy your S4 as you did before the update. Have you tested the device in Safe Mode for a prolonged period of time? ( at least one day) http://vz.to/1dyR8dX

It's the same problem, I put it in Safe mode after reading this on Saturday and not 15 minutes after I was in safe mode the phone restarted and all I did was read a news site on the web.. Didn't even open any other apps.

That's funny, I'm about to go through my third Samsung repair for the rebooting issue. Two failed attempts. I don't want a Verizon refurb or use my insurance. I just want a working new phone from Samsung or Verizon. 4-5 weeks without a working S4 sucks. Sure I can get a loaner or use an old device while Samsung tries to repair my phone again. But this is getting old quick. I guess the better question at this point is does the refurbished device from Verizon have warranty like a new device?
