I have a Casio® G'zOne Ravine® 2. Last night, the time changed to 1 hour, 9 minutes and 57 seconds behind what it should be. I don't know when the problem occurred.
Hey there swsproul,Sounds like your Casio wanted to go back in time. I'm not sure what happened either, but it looks like your phone turned the clock back for daylight savings a day or two early. The time on your clock should be accurate now. Let us know if you need additional assistance.NicholasB_VZWFollow us on Twitter @VZWSupprt
Well, not only did my phone adjust for Daylight Savings on Sunday morning, but it also jumped back another hour this morning so that it’s two hours, twelve minutes, twenty six seconds off.
Oh my goodness! Let's find a way to fix this fast, swsproul. What zipcode are you in? I want to have you start by reprogramming your phone to the network by dialing *228 and pressing send while you're in a Verizon Wireless area. Also, Select Menu > select Setting & Tools > select Phone Settings > select System Select > select Network Mode > highlight CDMA Mode and select. Please keep us posted if this helps. Thank you.JenniferH_VZW Please follow us on Twitter @vzwsupport
20602 is my zip code. It looks like your fix has remedied the issue. Thank you for your help.
I also have 2 Casio Ravine 2's (one work and one personal) and both of my have this same issue. The work phone that said it was 9:23 AM today when it was actually about 4:30 PM. My personal phone is only a few weeks old but has also done this twice already. I have tried the *228 which fixes the phones but only for a short duration and they go right back to their old ways...both phones network modes are set to CDMA.... I don't wear a watch, and normally set alarms on my phone, but with these I can't trust them to do anything. I sure wish I could get this resolved.
Same thing is happening to my father in laws phone. Purchased for Xmas in 2013. Have to turn off/on phone at least once every couple days. Tried all the *228 stuff, but only recently have I put the phone on CDMA mode only. Lets see if this helps.
No issues still occurs, VWireless needs to issue replacements and or free exchanges. I'm not paying a "restocking fee"
If you purchased it in December 2013, then it should still be under the one year manufacturer's warranty. You should pursue that avenue.
Im not sure its a warranty issue...It seems that EVERY CASIO G'z One Ravine 2 is doing it!
Hi Williamsickels23,We want to help! Is this happening with the Ravine 2 for you as well? Have you tried select Menu > select Setting & Tools > select Phone Settings > select System Select > select Network Mode > highlight CDMA Mode and select? If you have and it's still not working, I'd make sure the software is correct. To do so, select Menu > select Setting & Tools > select Phone Info > select SW/HW version > view software version. This seems to be a common problem as it has also happened twice to me since receiving the phone for Christmas, 2013. I'm surprised action has not been taken on one of the software updates to repair this situation. I specifically wanted this phone because of the luck I had with my Boulder!
Does turning the phone off every couple of days really seem to help?
Thanks for your feedback, Big_Dougy. Allow us to see what we can do to have you on time. Are you also using the Ravine 2? How do you get the correct time back on your phone? TamaraH_VZWFollow us on Twitter @VZWSupport
As of now, it is in fact keeping the correct time. I believe the CDMA mode change is what ultimately fixed the annoying problem. So far so good, Will update if anything changes.
My Casio Ravine 2 also will display incorrect time; it will remain stuck at some hour ... when I first got the phone, it did it often till I followed the advice here and changed the network setting to CDMA. But it still does it. I find that turning off the phone will reset it, when it is turned back on right away. Also, the software for the phone is supposed to be current, according to the phone...
My Ravine did this (about one hour 11 minutes) every three weeks and it did this for a couple months then I finally got support to find the answer. After using the *228 and changing to CDMA it hasn't done it for about 8 months. Casio is SUPPOSEDLY WORKING ON A SOFTWARE FIX. LOL. I think Verizon needs to put some heat on them, or threaten to drop their products.
i8cat, we don't want to you to be late to anything! Dial *228 from your device and choose option 2 to update the roaming capabilities on your device. You will then need to power your device off/on to soft reset. Keep us posted and let us know how this works for you. We're standing by to further assist if you need us. I also have a Ravine 2 and it suddenly showed 630 am and the actual time was 900 am!!!! So alarm didn't go off and I nearly missed a live radio show appointment!! Talk about embarrassing and probably not the best PR to go over a live radio broadcast! I tried everything but had to shut phone off to get correct time, but now I no longer trust it as an alarm clock or even to remind me of appts throughout my day! So it can show the moon phases and all sorts of other gizmos but cant keep correct time??
Will try the CDMA fix, but except for answering calls, my faith is gone for the lil guy...I downgraded from a Droid specifically for reliability, so bit odd to have something so simple cause such havoc..
Good morning, Iporterusa! I use my phone as my alram every day as well. So I know from first hand how important it is to have the phone working so you are not missing important events. Since this issue has happend with the Ravine 2 and you got it back on track with the right time, has it messed up since? Please keep us posted on this concern.KevinR_VZWPlease follow us on Twitter @VZWSupport
Casio G'zOne Commando doing the same thing, woke up late for work tonight @10.36 and phone states 11.36???
KevinR-VZW, don't you think this is a problem that is prevalent and serious enough for Verizon to put some pressure on Casio to get on the ball and do a software upgrade or a fix? I certainly think the expense for this would be worth it in market opinion, keeping a good reputation for Casio and Verizon. You can spread this feel good crap around on the community board all you want but in the end it just becomes a timeline of Verizon's lackadaisical customer service. You have my permission to copy this letter to your boss and your CEO. Sincerely submitted, Paul
also have a ravine 2 with the same issue --all the above suggestions are temporary at best, this needs a reliable fix!
Isfinn1,So sorry to hear that the previous suggestions have not resolved the trouble with the clock. Updating the software and reprogramming this phone usually do the trick. Have you tried backing up and factory resetting your phone? BrianP_VZWFollow Us on Twitter @VZWSupport
Same thing happened with my LG 3 last night. It was on the charger with WiFi and mobile data enabled. The clock has been 1 hour and 16 minutes behind since at at least 4:30 this morning. Factory reset sounds like more than I can handle on my own. My local Verizon store is awesome -- especially Billy and Jonathan. I"ll swing by there later for help. Thanks for such a clear explanation of the problem. I hope it isn't a recurring problem with the LGs like it seems to be with the Casios.
