texts converting to mms by using Google keyboard not a 3rd party app

Why am i unable to send an sms using emojos that are on my phones keyboard? Not using a 3rd party app. Standard Note 2 Google Keyboard

I appreciate you taking the time to reach out! This feature is working as it should, if an emoticon is used on the Google keyboard the message will be sent as an MMS.
