Problems with texts when I switched from an iphone to the Galaxy s5

When I switched from my Iphone to the Galaxy S5 I have started having problems recieving text messages. I cannot seem to recieve texts now from some people with an Iphone. I turned on my old phone the other day and as soon as I did all the texts that I had missed were on the old iphone. Can anyone help?

You need to turn off i message and than un-register your iphone from Itunes. It should work in about 24-72 hours. Just tell your friends for now to turn off Imessage and it should work after 24-72 hours. I hope that helps.

I had same problem. Called Verizon. They had me reactivate my iPhone (*228), turn iMessage off, reactive the S5. Text messages received fine. However, use Verizon message app instead of Samsung mess app, because the latter requires Data mode to receive and send MMS; whereas the former allows you to receive and send MMS via WiFi ans well as 4G
