I have a newly purchased Samsung Galaxy S4 and for the past 4 days my connection is showing as 3g or shows nothing. What might be going on and any solutions to regain my 4g connection.
Good morning MudBone827! I'm sorry to see that you have been experiencing some post software update issues! While not the norm, sometimes we experience post software update issues due to conflict between previous software version system files and the new software version. This is easily resolved by doing a Hard Reset http://vz.to/1b59FYH Give it a try and keep us posted.AntonioC_VZW Follow us on Twitter at www.twitter.com/VZWSupport
Hey,
Did you try restarting your device? The next thing I would try would be a new Sim card. You can get a free one at any corporate Verizon wireless store. Hope that helps,
Doc
I have restarted the device and still had same issue. Stopping here problem MIGHT be resolved, phone just finished installing an update to the phone and it is now showing 4GLTE now, so, problem may be solved, will see once it has finished updating and scanning. Thanks for reply.
No problem. Let me know if it acts up again.
Well since the update(i'm assuming it was that KitKat one) I got my 4GLTE connection back, but, now I am getting all kinds of screwed up things going on #1 According to message when I dock my phone to my PC or connect straight to PC using Data connection I can no longer get updates on my phone.
#2 I can no longer copy files to my phone.
What is up with that? Has Verizon turned my phone into a brick now? Since there is no way of reversing this TERRIBLE UPDATE what am I supposed to do, will I be able to return this phone and get my mone back or get it replaced? This is unacceptable. Thank you for responding before, hope you can help on this one as I am so upset about this I had to get out of bed and write this post.
444 views and not one by verizon with a response? The silence by them is deafening.
I have also just started noticing that my dock keeps dropping and reconnecting like i'm removing and reseating my phone to the docking station, very strange to say the least. That KitKat upgrade is definitely the culprit of my now possesed phone because everything was working fine before that crazy KitKat upgrade with the exception of 4g to 3g connection downgrade.

A) this is CUSTOMER to CUSTOMER forum not Verizon Customer service.
Occasionally Verizon customer service will respond but it can takes several days.
Oh, ok, then i'm in the wrong section, thank you.
I have been looking, but, can't find it, exactly where is the customer support forums? Link please.
You aren't "in the wrong section", you just have to be patient about a VzW rep responding. They don't respond to every post and when they do, it's often days after a post is left.
Regarding the VzW software ... my guess is that they haven't updated the software yet to coincide with the phone's recent OS update. Also, keep in mind that you don't have to use that software to update your phone ... OS updates occur over-the-air, i.e., via a mobile data connection.
You should check to make sure the back of the phone is on tightly.
As I listen to the 2112 album I must chuckle after reading your reply, sorry.
I know this is throwing the baby out with the bath water but....
Never use Verizon's anything to get anything or backup anything or anything! They have unreliable crap apps and programs.
Just always use the maker of the devices methods. Over the air, or at the manufacturer web site but not Verizon wireless.
You could also do a total system wipe and place it back to original use (system restore) on the device its self.
Street Doc had a good suggestion of getting a new SIM card.

Thank you, I was up until after 3am gouging my eyes out over this [removal required by the Verizon Wireless Terms of Service] thing and FINALLY got it to wake up(refer to this thread last post by me; Samsung Galaxy S4 update). I will most definitely bookmark link you provided.
