Warning message for too many SMS?

Using handcent, chomp, default messenger. So any app I use it seems to overload the limit. I have unlimited txts.

I would like to remove this warning. Many people are telling me they are not even receiving the text. SO I am assuming the warning message is messing up my sends. I am using this to txt message 70 people for a group text alert I need to send out every now and then.

That is a device setting. Which device do you use? It has nothing to do with your unlimited messaging service plan.

I have a Droid Razr HD.

Okay, you should be able to open your 'Messages' app, click the 'Menu' key (which is three vertical dots), click 'Settings', and somewhere in settings, there is the option to automatically delete messages at a certain number.

I am not trying to delete messages saved. I am getting warning messages for sending too many SMSes at one time. The image I linked to is an example of the warning message I am seeing. I do not think we are talking about the same things.

I don't think this has anything to do with "deleting messages", simply that the phone is notifying the user of what it thinks is suspicious behavior of sending a group SMS to 70 recipients all at one time. This sounds as if it is trying to alert the user that an app on the phone MAY be trying to "spam" the owner's contacts without their knowledge.

It doesn't look to me as if it is trying to notify the user that space is limited and asking if you want to delete old texts to make room.

Since the OP has stated they WANT to mass text 70 people all at once, a setting to override this warning is what is being requested, not how to "automatically delete messages at a certain number."

Also, might be helpful, it pops up the warning message 15-30 times or so... I just keep clicking. If it was just once I frankly would not care. But this is over and over again.

meregeeks, thanks for these details. Are you connected to Wi-Fi when sending a group message? If so, disable Wi-Fi, connect to our network and try to send that group message again. Keep us posted.

I have sent ones outside of any accepted wifi and logged onto my wifi at home. Both with the same results of the repeated message.

Have you tried using an app that goes thru wi-fi instead of the Network? Handcent, Chomp, Go text still all use the Network and you have limits on how many messages you can send thru the Network.

I don't remember which app does it, but one of them allows you to send using your cell phone number. So that when recipients get the message it looks like it was sent from your cell phone instead of a random phone number.

no wireless, after reset of app:

1. still get a lot of warning messages, but significantly less.

2. no longer get messages not received/sent errors so I do not have to go back and try to resend them over and over again, while handscent crashes.

But the original issue still remains.

it is android. the limit 30 messages per half hour and is in the OS and can't be adjusted (without voiding your warranty). verizon or the manufacturer can't help. your options are to try a couple of apps that claim to fix this (but have low success rates) or send 30 and wait a half hour and send another 30, or just keep clicking ok when you get the warning.
