I just purchased a very basic phone it is the samsung gusto3, I imported my previous number to it and I can call out but can not recieve calls in what do I need to do ?

I just bough the Samsung gusto3 for my husband and I imported his number and now I can not receive calls but I can call out? what do I do to fix this

Is the previous phone turned off? Have you dialed *228 on the Gusto 3 to activate it?
