Can I use an Australian SIM card in my Note 3?

Hi, I have a Samsung Note 3 from the USA, and I am travelling to Australia in a few weeks. I would like to know if I can buy a prepaid SIM card there to use in my phone so that I have a local number and I can use data without spending a million bucks on it. Has anyone done this, or do you have any suggestions? Is there a certain company that I need to get the SIM card from over there??

I have always wanted to travel to Australia! Have a great trip, Pabstrick. The good news is that you can get a SIM card while you are there, but you would need to get any support regarding the service from that particular company.
