Why are Verizon's HTC One and the Moto X getting the Kit Kat Update and there is no word regarding the "Flagship" S4
Because the manufacturers of those phones have already developed Kit Kat for their phones and Samsung has not or Verizion has not finished testing it yet, It will be released when Samsung and Verizion are satisfied with it.
COME ON VERIZON.....Disappointing us again. Will T-Mobile beat you to Kitkat leaving you, and us, your customers LAST in the US with this key UPDATE????
SO GLAD TO BE PAYING VERIZON MORE THAN ANY OTHER CARRIER COSTS, FOR LESS PRODUCT THAN ANY OTHER CARRIER, AND GETTING UPDATES THE SLOWEST!!!!!!!
But you are getting the best network coverage. You always have a choice go to Sprint or T-Mobile are cheaper but have no network to speak of. You pay less but get less from them. Decision is always yours.
Hey your phone functions, why is it everyone has to keep asking for OS updates. The updates are from the device makers.
Good Luck
I would agree, Verizon is not the issue it is Samsung. But keeping up on updates are not Samsungs only problem. The S4 overall is a big issue in my opinion. It feels cheaply made and I have had to have it replaced several times for issues. And it still gives me a sim error and drops calls randomly.
How do you figure? Samsung has confirmed it has released KitKat to ALL US Carriers! It is absolutely Verizon. Where not waiting for them to "test" it, where waiting for them to bloat it up and then get around to releasing it.
The best network is very true where I live, work and travel. I have always be happy with that and I never complain about the price I pay for that. I will complain about updates on my phones which HAS BEEN/IS very poor. The worst carrier in the US at this time. I for one have received good customer service but I keep reading all the horror stories of others. I don't really use customer service that much though. I think we are paying for a little more than just the best network with the prices VZW charges us all.
The S4 is a Samsung Flagship not a VZW Flagship phone? It looks like the Droids are more of a Flagship for VZW
I for one am happy that Verizon has not ruined my S4 with 4.4 yet. Once installed you will lose access to your SD card. I suggest you get ready to use your laptop to save/move files as Google has totally ruined the file comp in 4.4.
Some light reading: http://www.gottabemobile.com/2014/02/22/samsung-galaxy-s4-note-3-android-4-4-problem-hits-micro-sd-card/
Since I cannot opt out or block the 4.4 update, I will be seeking a refund and return my S4 for a non-android phone.
That is what I get for being with Verizon for so long; as soon as I 'contract' and upgrade Google ruins my (our) phones. The wife is REALLY happy she got the iphone now....
Your post makes absolutely no sense at all. Aside from the fact that you can change that permission back (advanced users only, but still) your complaint is about the SD Card permission issue, and that your wife is REALLY happy about the iPhone, which DOESN'T have SD card capability in the first place, so assuming you didn't get the permissions changed back, both phone would work the same way! Except of course that the iPhone isn't even remotely customizable, can't run 3rd party apps, screen is small as crap, battery's not replaceable, and once it get another OS update after 7 all the apps in the app store will outright refuse to work on it, YAH! great alternative!
I'm running KitKat on my GS4 and have no issues, smoother, more battery life and no, no SD card issues.
Just out of curiosity, what's the process to change this back?

If any of their process involved modifying the phone's software (ie rooting), such discussion can't be continued on this community because of the here.
