Desktop Manager Update

My DM says an update to 5.0 is available. I downloaded and installed it, but when I open DM, it still says version 4.7 in the bottom left corner. Any suggestions?

Did you update DM directly through DM?

Reboot. If not, uninstall old and reinstall new directly from RIM's website.

Yes, I did. It is the DM that came with the BB from VZW.

If you haven't already, in the bottom right hand corner of the DM is a "check for updates" link which is what you want to use to update DM. I'm assuming you downloaded something as opposed to clicking the link; so if you haven't done that already give it a shot and let us know.

Rebooted PC, still 4.7. I did click on "check for updates", that is how I knew about update.

Then I would say the same as my friend above, completely uninstall DM4.7, download 5.0 from RIM and reinstall that way.
