Galaxy S3 - can't answer ringing phone

Galaxy S3 can't answer ringing phone - since Verizon update in May - update_SCH-I%#%_ML1_to_NC1 - I am unable to answer some calls, not all, just some. There is no option to answer or ignore and the phone won't stop ringing. I Have to restart to end the ringing. After Verizon update, Android updated to 4.4.2 but the problem persists. What is the solution?

That definitely sounds like a strange situation pedrolito! I would be delighted to review a few options with you. Have you recently installed any new applications since this issue developed? Have you removed/reinserted the battery? Have you completed a full reset/restore on the device? Please keep us posted, thanks!

I did not install anything new. I did uninstall Lookout after this happened and I may uninstall xtreme call blocker but I am not convinced they are the problem. I did the battery remove twice and no change. I do not want to reset the phone. That seems a bit extreme and now that Lookout is gone restoring will be more difficult. There has to be something simple. I just need a little help finding it.

pedrolito, help is definitely here for you. Let's try something a little less extreme. Some 3rd party application software may be conflicting with the recent software update. As a result, we reccommend that you uninstall any unwanted applications on your device and then power it off/on to soft reset. Keep us posted and let us know if that works for you.

It appears that Extreme Call Blocker was conflicting with the new call blocking feature in 4.4.2 - apparently there is no peaceful coexistence despite the fact that all the web sites say there is no problem. Once uninstalled I have not had the problem for a few days so far.
