Bluetooth Music Cutting Out

Hello everyone,

The audio is cutting out on my bluetooth headphones when I am outside. Also when I touch the pocket that has my phone. If I leave my hand over my phone, the song cuts in and out. It is constantly cutting in and out both inside and outside if I am covering the phone, with my hand, in my pocket. It isn't skipping the song, it is just cutting out/pausing the song. I have tried different headphones but they both did the same thing. I have soft/hard rebooted the phone and cleared the RAM. Nothing is helping.

Has anyone ran into this before or do I just have a defective bluetooth receiver in the phone?

I have to point out that this is the first time I have ever used the bluetooth on this phone.

D.Roll, We want you to be able to hear your entire song! Try connecting the headphones to another device. Are you having the same problem? Do you have a case on your phone? If so, does the problem persist with the case removed? Let's also make sure you also have the most up to date software: http://vz.to/1dIkyBN .

Thank you for your reply! I had previously tried all of those suggestions but I went ahead and tried them again, just to be sure. Still having the same issue though. :smileysad: I'm not sure what else I can do. I'm starting to think it could be a defect in the phone.

In addition to Verizon's suggestion often times the Bluetooth device just doesn't like the device.

My suggestion try another Bluetooth device and see if it works better than the first one.

If you have a friend that has a different one just ask to borrow it and if it works you know its the device and not the phone.

My friend tried 4 different ear pieces for hands free talking and three of them just would not function properly.

Just to clarify, does it cut out when you are not covering it, or it's not in your pocket? It's possible that you're cutting off the bluetooth receiver by covering it, and weakening the signal between the bluetooth headset and the phone. This may be better or worse depending on the bluetooth headset. How long have you had your phone and your bluetooth? Have you tried a different bluetooth with the phone?

Hey Elector,

Thanks for the response! I have tried another headset and the same issue is happening. With the first headphones, I thought it was the headphones so I returned them and got a different brand. The new ones are still cutting out. I am pretty sure it is the phone at this point. :smileysad:

It does cut out when I am not covering it while it is in my pocket. It happens less when it is out of my pocket but it will still cut out. I also tried it in my arm band, thinking that it being closer to the headphones would help, but it doesn't.

2 headphones from two different companies are doing the same thing.

I have had the phone for a little over a year. My contract ends in November.

First try unpairing / deleting the pairing and then repairing.

If that doesn't work, backup all your important content and settings. Then perform an FDR and *HOPE* that resolves your problem.
