I send a lot of text messages. I also try to send a lot of picture messages. Because of this, I pay $50 a month for a dataplan with unlimited messages, although my data usage is fairly low. Plus $40 per month for each of two smart phones.
The text messages are always reliable, and arrive promptly. Especially to other Verizon customers. But the picture messages often fail. This is very frustrating, as a major usage is to send photographs of home events to children living elsewhere.
Same problem whether the picture is attached within message, or whether the messager is invoked from within the picture gallery. No difference whether there is a text caption for the picture, or just the picture by itself. Once the messaging starts failing, resending has no effect. Each time, several transmissions each fail.
The failure is unpredictable. Yesterday, for example, I sent 3 pictures in 3 messages with no problems in the morning. But then in the afternoon, nothing works. And today, nothing works. There is no contact way on verizon website of complaining, nor via texting itself. So I am trying this route, in the hope of getting response from tech support.

PS my main phone is a Motorola Droid4, upgraded to Android 4.4. But other phones have same problem...
