error on outgoing calls

When making a call with my note 3 ---- I dial the number hit send and then will get the error "please dial the 10 digit number you are trying to reach do not press send" (possibly slightly different wording) you can enter in the number again and it might go through will take an extended time to go through or may not go through.  this is getting aggravating has been going on for about 5 months now.  Primarily happens within 30 - 40 miles of zip 28448 as well as occasionally in the 28403 area.  I have completed battery pull, power cycle, *228 to update roaming and nothing has helped.  Any suggestions??????????

You don't dial *228 to update roaming on a 4G phone, that's handled by the SIM card.  You might try resetting your SIM card by turning off the phone, removing the SIM card (which can be tricky in a Note 3; be sure not to touch the gold contacts), waiting a minute or so, then reinserting the SIM card, turning the phone back on, and allowing time for a fresh network connection to be established.  If that doesn't help, try a new SIM card ... they're free at your local Corporate Verizon store or by calling Customer Service.
