Following the KitKat update, my Galaxy S4 became very sluggish and my battery life decreased significantly. Eventually, I performed a factory data reset which cleared most of the issues. However, I discovered that the com.android.systemui module continued to be at the top of the battery usage list. After trial and error, I found that the Samsung S-View cover seemed to be causing problems so I removed it and my battery life was back as it was before KitKat. Now com.android.systemui no longer appears on the battery usage list.
Is anyone else seeing this problem? Is there a fix for this? I really like this cover, but I can't use it with KitKat as it is.
fyi, this is the OEM Samsung cover, not a knock-off, purchased from the Samsung website.
