I'm not receiving Gmail alerts when a new email arrives unless I'm in a WiFi area, or when I click on "Refresh". Mobile Data and SYNC are both ON.
I'm missing something in Settings I'm sure. Just can't find it. Any ideas?
Thanks!
If you have "background data" disabled to save on battery consumption, it would not check for emails until you opened the app and manually checked.
it's in wi-fi settings, advanced/keep wi-fi on during sleep.
Thanks... Can you give me a pathway to find "background data" so I can check?
JimTahoe, Have no fear, Verizon is here. I have the steps for you to check to make sure that backgroud data is not disabled. You would go into Settings, Data Usage, Tap on the Three little squares in the upper RIGHT, there should be Restrict background data. If there is a check mark in that box then that could be the reason you are not getting your Gmail alerts. Keep us posted on the outcome. Kevin_RFollow us on Twitter @VZWSupport
