SSays no SD card, then I must restart...then it locks up and then I have to shut off and turn it back on. The phone is only 9 months old!
No SD Card, or no SIM card? In either case, though, shut the phone off, remove the card (or both of them), and then re-seat them and restart the phone.
You need the SM to connect with the network, and if the card is bad, you can get a new one for free at any corporate Verizon store. A new SIM may be all that's needed.
You can use the phone without an SD card, it's just extra storage and handy to have, but not essential. Try it without the SD card and see if it works better - the SD card may be corrupt and a new one may work better. If you have an adapter, try reading the card in your computer; copy everything if you can so you have it backed up, and then replace the SD card.
Many people confuse or interchange the SIM and the SD card - they are two different types of cards, with two different purposes. Determining which one is causing the problem is key.
Phone hot on the back if you use it for a long time.? If it is SD and not SIM you are referring to it could the SD card itself. I have seen cheap ones off ebay to that to a phone. If the phone is hot after charging/using for extended period time. Take out the SD card and turn phone back on. It should work boot and sync with the network. So then you lost SD data, need new SD, IF SIM is what your referring to take out and put back in 3 or four times in a row " helps knock any dust that might be in there out" and put back in and start phone. If doesn't work run up to Verizon and they will give you a free one real quick or grab unlocked phone and put your current sim into it.
Thanks..yes it says SD...did take it all out and put back in..guess i'll have to get new SD.
Try using an adapter with your computer to see if you can salvage any info from the card - the phone may not read it, but you may be able to see the info on your computer.
And if you can't read the card on your computer, there's SD card recovery software that also might could salvage some of the files.
