phone "repair" stuck at 83% for last 3 hours

I hooked my galaxy s3 to my pc this morning to download the new software update. as far as I can tell the software updated but then the Verizon thing recommended that I "repair" my phone... so I did. my problem is that now after 3 hours hooked up and "repairing" it has stopped at 83% and wont move. the pop up tells me NOT to disconnect my phone from my pc and my phone is black with an android that says underneath DOWNLOADING... DO NOT TURN OFF TARGET!! in the upper left of my screen it says in red ODIN MODE with various info under that.

how do I stop this "repair"?!?!?!?! without wiping my entire phone of course
