Samsung Galaxy S4 will not boot.

Using original charger/cable there is no indication of the phone charging. I pulled the battery, held the power button for one minute and reinstalled. I then tried the volume/home/power to try to boot the phone...no change, black screen only. This is only a recent issue (since KitKat), what else can I do?

Will I have to go to a verizon store to deal with this? I'm on travel for work, and this is having a huge affect on my day to day job.

Oh no! I know how important it is to have a device while traveling. Save the trip to the store, we can help here. Was the device charged prior to dying?
