bluebutterfly19691, I have a quick fix for that issue. Let's get those messages to download! First, make sure that Wi-Fi is disabled in Settings and Cellular data is enabled on. Keep us posted.

Why must WiFi be turned off? Mobile Data and WiFi can be on at the same time.

You might try another texting app rather than the one you are using. Perhaps try Verizon Messages or Hangouts to determine if it is a network issue or an app issue.
