Unstable internet connection after 4.4.2 upgrade.

I upgraded the software on my Galaxy S4 to what my phone says is version "4.4.2" and get the error of an "unstable internet connection". I've turned the auto network switch off and on, I've powered down and tried every other thing that has been suggested on the internet and nothing. What is the fix for this?

I never like to hear our customers are having internet connections issues. Let's get to the bottom of this quickly. Does service improve outdoors? What zip code are you in?

I'm seeing the same problem with my S4. I also get a message that DNS is not being resolved. Rebooting makes it work temporarily, but it only lasts for a couple hours. I am also unable to open Google Play or Google Voice after the update. Zip 93422, 93405, 93401

Thanks for your feedback, ClydeClark. In regards to the DNS message, does the same behavior occur when the cache is cleared? In the browser select Menu> Settings> Privacy> Delete personal data> check Select all> Select Done.

What browser are you using? Also, please run the device in safe mode http://vz.to/15rkFOi and see if the behavior is consistent.

Also, check the WiFi settings. Settings> Connections> WiFi>Press and hold the WiFi Connection> Select Modify network config> Select Show advanced options> Verify IP settings are set to DHCP.

My zip code is 54701/54703. My problem is connecting and staying connected

to WiFi at my office. It's always worked fine in the past, after the

upgrade it won't stay connected. I know that it is not a router problem as

we have 3 iPhones that stay connected and a Galaxy S4 that hasn't done the

upgrade that stays connected fine as well.

You were on the right path. Turn the Network Auto Switch off and leave it off. It is designed to switch you back to Carrier Data whenever the Wifi signal gets too weak. We did some testing in my house and it appears anytime you lose a bar of WiFi, it switches you to Carrier Data.

Since my 4.2.2 update I've experienced network issues as well.

I've factory reset, and removed all nonessential apps.

The issue specifically happens on wireless G networks. Data just stops flowing.

I've found a work around which is to toggle the wifi off/on. Then it works for a while longer.

Does not happen on wireless N networks. Have not tested B.

This is of course just one of the many issues that have started since the kit kat update.
