'USB connector connected' is the message that appears when charger is plugged into the phone (S4) - phone won't charge - what can I do?

I took the battery and the sim card out for five minutes and put it back in and now it seems to be working.

We definitely want your phone to have a full battery life. This happens when you plug your phone into your PC. It's activating the setting to transfer media. In addition. USB to PC is not strong enough to charge it to 100% and will need to be at least a certain percentage before it can actually start charging http://vz.to/QRRnqC .

My phone is doing this same thing. I have tried different chargers, my car, my computer. Nothing. It will say USB connected, but will not charge. Then it will say that I am not using my original charger, which I am, and it is disconnecting to protect me device. So frustrating. What can I do?

What happens when you jiggle the connector in the phone? If it begins to charge, it's a bad cable. I just had the same situation. Just get a new cable.
