I lost my phone about two months ago. I purchased the same one used on ebay and now I'm trying to apply my number to it but it's not working. I usually used *228 to program the rentals I've used for overseas. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Since you bought it used did you check with amazon to make sure it's not on the lost or stolen list? That could be one reason it won't activate. Mary
What phone are you trying to activate?
If it's a newer, 4G smartphone, then you need a SIM card to connect to the network and activate the phone (they are free at Verizon corporate stores). *228 activates a phone that uses 3G.
Since the question is posted in the Basic Phones area I assume she is trying to activate a basic phone
