Forgot screen password

Can someone please help me. I forgot my screen password and I am on 9 tries. If I do it one more time, it will wipe everything out. Is there a way to change this from the computer. And if not how can I back up my contacts and messages somewhere? Thank you.

If you activated Android Device Manager on your phone and associated it with your Google account, you may be able to use it to unlock your phone.

How do I know if I did that and how do I use it to unlock the phone. Thank you

Hi thank you, I think I have this option, but I do not Know how to get into it and use it to open up my phone?
