I can hear calls on LG Cosmos 3 but am unable to respond back, is my microphone dead?

My husband's phone the LG Cosmos hasn't been able to respond to calls. I told him it was his phone, cause I knew my phone still worked. I was reading on forums and they are saying that the microphone is bad and that is why he can't respond back on phone calls. Any help please?

If the microphone is bad and it's less than a year old take it into a Verizon store and see if they will do warranty replacement. When my sons screened died once at 9 months that is what they did since it was under a year old. They shipped the new phone and when it arrived we had to ship the old one back. Mary
