I mean 4.4.4 already came out right? So why am I still on 4.4.2?
Are you manually checking for the update?
4.4.4 is not out for verizon s4 4.4.2 is current
I just received an update and we are still on 4.4.2 So I am very upset. I have Serious TXTing issues which are documented to be a 4.4.2 problem. With the recent update not going to 4.4.4 I don't see it in the future at all.
I am ready to switch to a new provider
What issues are you having? Is it tied to the stock texting App?
Probably won't be a 4.4.4. Lollipop 4.5 will be out in Nov. Maybe they are waiting for it.

5.0 will be out for Google Nexus devices in November.
How long to do you think Samsung will take to test, install, and layer on their extra software.
Then it goes to Verizon for testing, adding in more software that you can't uninstall.
If you see this before summer 2015 it will be a minor miracle.
I have read Samsung will release 4.4.4 for the S4 to Verizon sometime in November. Verizon will have to test it on their network before it is released to it's customers. How much time that takes is anyone's guess.
Verizon doesn't put app in. They give it to manufacturer long before they even test the software against their network. The manufacturer touches all the code. HTC, Sony, and Motorola openly admitted this the past 3 years.
The S4 is already 18 months old. How long does Samsung support it's phones for updates?
18 months. sammobile.com has confirmed that it is receiving Android 5.0.
It is available accourding to Samsung. Verizon has not pushed it out, has not completed their modifications and or is skipping for L5.0

How do I update my Samsung Galaxy S® 4 to 4.4 KitKat Operating System? : Verizon Wireless Cell Phones | Samsung
Core2, 5.0 totally screwed up my Nexus 7. Google sent out a fix that didn't work.
Yes 5.0 has been a failure across multiple devices, most significantly the Nexus line. Solution is that the minor update 5.0.2 is being adopted throughout the Android ecosystem, albeit slowly. Frustrating as it is, Samsung is going to update Note 4 and the S5 first. However, the S4 and Note 3 are not that far behind. I feel it might be February when we hear potential dates for the S4 being updated. The UK is now receiving updates for their S5's, as we speak for Android 5.0. Shortly after that you bet that the US will be soon to follow.
