This may not be the best place for information on this, but I've spent hours searching, with no results. I'm trying to send a message to a Vodafone user in Romania. I went to the Vodafone website and it said Verizon was an affiliate in the U.S. so I thought I'd see if anyone here could offer some advice.

I need to get an urgent message to this cell phone, but texts aren't delivered and when I call, I'm told the customer is unavailable. I know the customer is available, so it must be a problem with international communication. Does anyone know a way to contact a Romanian phone from the States?

How do I send International Text Messages?

To send International Text Messages to destinations outside of the US that use 10-digit dialing, simply enter the 10-digit phone number of the message recipient as you would when sending a domestic text message. To send a text message to a destination outside of the US that does not use 10-digit dialing, you must start with 011. Next, you must use the country code, and then the number you wish to reach. If it weren't in the correct format, I wouldn't get a message from Vodafone, would I?

As far as I know, you can't send send text message to any Romanian cellular network at this time. You should check this page for more information regarding the international text messaging.

On a side note, I am having a similar issue. Currently, I live in Hungary, and I am unable to send (and, of course, receive) text messages to any Verizon phone using my current carrier (T-Mobile H), whereas I had no problem with international text messaging until I changed service provider. (The previous was Pannon).
