Blackberry Desktop manager

I just purchased the BB Storm 2 and set up the desktop manager.  The e-mail setting icon is always grayed out and if I click on it, it says - E-mail settings are not available without an online connection to your messaging system -.  I can't figure out what it wants.  My laptop is online, my BB is connected to the internet bet the desktop manager says the server is offline???  Any suggestions?

Just curious, but have you already set up your email with the bis servers?  I set mine up through the setup option in the main menu and went online to get a username.  It's www.blackberry.com/go/vzw just in case.  Otherwise, I'm not really sure what else it could want.  I just got my S2 the other day to so I'm trying to absorb as much as possible and share what I learn.
