Skype says that it is not available for my Tour

When I go to www.Skype.com/vzw as instructed by the text message sent from VZW for my Blackberry Tour 9630 running Device version 5.0.0.591, I get the following message:

 

"Sorry, Skype mobile is not available for your phone. 

 

Switch to one of Verizon's best-selling Blackberry and Android 3G smartphones."

 

However, everything that appears on Skype and the VZW web sites indicates that my phone is supported.  What gives?

When I respond to VZW and tell them that I can't get Skype, all they do is send me the same text message saying:

"Free MSG: To get the Skype mobile app to ur phone, click on link: www.Skype.com/vzw.  Text STOP to quit or HELP for info. MSG&Data Rates May Aply."

Restart your device by doing a battery pull and follow these steps below.

 

If the browser Home Page has been changed, use the URL http://mobile.vzw.com.

1. From the Home screen, press the Menu button.
2. Select Browser.
3. Navigate to Get Apps.

   Curve 8330, World Edition 8830

   Browser should open to VZStart then select Get Apps.

   Storm 9530, Tour 9630

   Select Home Page (BlackBerry Bookmarks) > Get Apps.

   Curve 8530, Storm2 9550

   Select Home Page (BlackBerry Bookmarks) > Media Store > Get Apps.

4. Select Skype.
5. Select Download Skype.
6. Select Set Application Permissions then Download.
7. Ensure all permissions are set to Allow, press the Menu Button then select Save.
8. If prompted, select Yes.
9. Select OK.

1. From the Home screen, press the Menu button then select Skype Mobile.
   If not available, navigate Home screen > Downloads.
   
2. From the Sign in screen, press the Menu button then select Create account.
   
3. If prompted, read the terms and conditions then select Accept.
   
4. Enter the account information.

   Full name

   User's full name

   Skype Name

   A unique name between 6 and 32 characters with no spaces.

   Password

   A password between 6 and 20 characters long that contains at least one number and one letter.

   Repeat password

   Re-enter the password.

   Email

   User's email address.

   
5. Select Create account.
   

Sign in

1. From the Home screen, press the Menu button then select Skype Mobile.
   If not available, navigate Home screen > Downloads.
   
2. Enter the Skype name and password then select Sign in.

1. Press the Menu button then select Sign out.
   

1. From the Home screen, press the Menu button then select Skype Mobile.
   If not available, navigate Home screen > Downloads.
   
2. If prompted, enter the Skype name and password then select Sign in.
   
3. Select the Profile tab.
   
4. Edit the profile then press Enter.
   • Full name
   • Home Phone
   • Office Phone
   • Mobile Phone
   
5. Select Save.
