Droid trouble transferring phone book to car's blue tooth

I just go the Droid and it sync's great with my car's blue tooth (2009 BMW) but I cannot seem to get the phone book transferred. It says transferring but nothing ever happens, just seems to show the revolving circle on my BT showing it is working but that is all. Battery seems to drain pretty fast in the car now too like this. Is there something I am doing wrong here causing the phone book to not transfer? Thanks.

Hi,

I had the same problem the first time I tried to sync my Droid with my Garmin Nuvi.  I failed to notice a message in the Notification area at the top of the Droid screen that requests permission for your GPS device to transfer the phone book from your Droid.  If I recall there are 3 options:

No, don't allow

Yes, allow this time only

Yes, always allow.

Once I checked the option to "always allow"  it downloads the contact list to the Garmin device every time I connect via Bluetooth.
