My network extender, bought and activated 12/31/14, has stopped working. I've rebooted several times. GPS is ok, so appears the WAN. But the Sys light is blinking (slowly). Any ideas?
Network Extender User Guide, blinking red system LED means abnormal condition. Please describe your internet connection; the type, provider and zip code, advertized speed and measured speed and latency.
was working just fine till last night. my network is Quest, 1MBS (slow I know but the best I can do in my location).
98056, I don't know how to measure latency
Do you mean Qwest CenturyLink DSL @ 1 mbps or 1,000,000 bits per second?
Do you know how far you are from the telco office?
Do this test: speedtest.net, post the 3 test results ping, down, up.
Do a VoIP test at VisualWare. When done, Click Advanced and post the test stats.
If you haven't already, power off the network extender and the Internet modem and your router if you have one. Power back on the modem and wait until those light are the steady normal condition. Power on the next device in the connection chain either the extender or the router whichever is connected directly to the modem. Wait until those lights indicate normal operation. Finally reboot the network extender if you haven't done yet. See if the LED lights return to normal operation mode.
If anything in the connection between the extender and the line to the Internet isn't functioning properly, report back or troubleshoot that issue.
Thanks! Did all this, still doesn’t function L Any more ideas?
aprildrake, We definitely want to get your Network Extender working! While the community have given some excellent suggestions; we want to provide a few steps, as well. Here's a link that will be helpful in understanding the status lights http://vz.to/1DuDd1R. The WAN light blinking usually menas that there is data communicating to the extender. This can usually be resolved with a router restart. Just to double check; Have you registered your Network Extender to your account with us? TanishaS1_VZWFollow us on Twitter @VZWSupport
