How do I reset or disable fingerprint security?

I have an S5 Smartphone. I configured my fingerprint and alternate password. It indicated that the fingerprint was registered. Now the fingerprint does not work and I have to continually use the password. Help. How do I either reset the fingerprint or disable it?

Be sure to swipe the full fingertip pad down the home key when using the fingerprint swipe.  If you want to switch to a different screen lock, go to settings > lock screen > screen lock.
