Texting Issue... I can not send text messages.

I can receive them. I recently upgraded to the S5, and now I can not send text messages to anyone. I have tried both the verizon and built in messaging apps, both try to send and them come back with a failed to send message. I have upgraded the OS. Any thoughts on how to troubleshoot this?

I just installed the latest update and now texting works! Those who were already on Lollipop should install the latest OS upgrade. It worked for me!

I have the same problem. It happens on all texts to all numbers. I can send picture messages to those numbers, but all texts result in "failed" message. I have just upgraded to the S5, and it updated the Android system to 5.0. What gives???

I also have this problem. My phone is a few days old and as soon as I installed the 5.0 update it could no longer send text messages. They are only text, not multimedia. I've done all of the trouble-shooting I could find online including hard resets of the phone but the problem persists. I can't get anyone on a chat or find a number to call. I guess my next option is to return the phone.

Like others, it just seems to be individual text messages that can't be sent. Sending a picture works fine. Sending to a group works as well.

I had not thought to try sending a picture. That also works for me.

I talked to tech support at Verizon today and I found out that one option is to go to Best Buy and they will undo the OS update for me there.

Is there any solution? Reading on the Web it seems it maybe a bug in the new operating system. Any sugestions? Again the issue I have is that SMS texts can not be sent. MMS versions can. This is the case in all messaging apps.

As of today, I cannot send text via either message apps, even after the factory reset. Less than two weeks and after update.....Also lost wifi connection ability, but so far after the reset, is holding....mind you the reset happened half an hour ago. Looking to see if any solutions have been discovered.
