Is there a way to check how many texts i have used, and how many left?
Simple way:
Call #3282 (DATA) and you will get a free text message that will tell you messages sent and received and other info. It doesn't tell you how many left....that's up to you to figure out.
If you log in to your account at MyVerizon, you can see what your allowance is and a meter for how much you have used. If you haven't created an account for your number, then you need to do that; at VerizonWireless.com, click on Register, and create a username and password for your phone number. The meter turns yellow when you get close to your allowance, and turns red if you are at or over.
To add on to what SuzyQ said, you can also check your usage from your online account. Once you are on the Overview page of your online account, you will need to click on the View Usage tab and select view messaging details.

Are you using the built in mobile IM? If yes, then texts all go through that. You'll only be billed for text usage.Each IM sent and received counts as one text.
