Lollipop Update - Random reboots

Has anyone had any issues with the Lollipop updated? Since the update, my S5 randomly reboots (6 times in 90 minutes last night), is very sluggish (can't tell if slow or non-responsive), and has poor battery life. The HeartRate LED lights up every time it enters shirt pocket. Is there any way to roll back the update? Loved this phone until the update - now it's constantly rebooting, and is becoming useless.

Thanks, but not yet ... Was hoping for a simpler resolution, without the time requirement to reload apps/customize, etc. Will go that route as a last resort.

Once you take an update, you cannot rollback.

I've had this issue, along with severe battery drain since the update (50% in 2 hours not using the phone).

The reboots stopped (so far) after performing a battery pull and cache clear...lets see how long it lasts.

The battery drain I have not found a solution or cause to, everything looks normal in the battery usage stats, however, it is draining at ~2x the normal rate prior to this update.

The system has to relearn its parameters after a major update or master reset. Might take 3 days to a week with normal use and charging cycles.

I have had my S5 randomly reboot once; I've since done a partition cache clear and it hasn't happened again.

Two other issues I have noted: My Visual Voicemail (free, not premium) works, but the only notification I get is that there is a problem with my voicemail. I ccan retrieve the VM with either *86 or the VVM app, so the caller was able to leave me the VM and it's working for callers. All I saw was a missed call and an error message.

More troublesome is call quality. I can hear callers just fine - all they hear from me is static and garbled noise. If I put the phone on speaker, or use a headset, all is well. Calls over the bluetooth in my car worked too, Just making a regular call is impossible. Toggling the HD Voice option has no effect. Toggling Noise Reduction has no effect. Any other ideas?

Yes. Backup your device and try an FDR.

I definitely understand your concern. Updates are meant to improve your device, not cause you headaches. In many cases a hard reset http://vz.to/16yTIP5 is recommended, especially after a major software update. Please try the hard reset and keep us posted.

You definitely need a battery life to keep up with your day cmpx. Let's take a further look into this. Please go to Settings>About Phone>Software Information>What is the software number?Then More>What is the build number?

Please charge to at least 50%. Write down the battery % level, then place a test call to #2539 for 10 min. Let us know the % after call is completed.

Well, he was the only one who said he had not had any issues with his 5.0 update.

Thanks to all for your comments and suggestions. I ended up doing a backup and FDR. After a few days of monitoring, my S5 is behaving better. It still seems sluggish at times, and battery life is half of what it had been (less than 3-4 hours with 'my normal' use). However, the decline in performance & battery life may be due to settings (both application & Android) that were in place prior to the FDR, and were in a different state after FDR (e.g. FB auto-play of video over mobile - was set to WiFi-only prior to FDR). Will continue to monitor & tweak. Thanks again ... cheers!
