Where is the update for BlackBerry 10.3??? Everybody has it but Verizon customer's. I'm not getting why we haven't gotten it yet.
I called Verizon technical support last night and was told that Verizon currently has no update available for any BB10 devices. I was also told that BlackBerry has to release the update to Verizon in order for Verizon to then release it to their BlackBerry customers. So, Verizon pointed back at BlackBerry.
If this is true, here's my theory: BlackBerry is releasing various leaks of 10.3.???? to much smaller carriers before Verizon and AT&T get it because they want all the bugs to be worked out. When Verizon gets something official from BlackBerry, it should be a much safer deal than what some of the smaller carriers have received.
Thanks for the info! I may give this a try in the near future.
Since Verizon is now selling a phone with 10.3.1, it seems someone should be able to give us an answer. Sure wish another carrier had coverage where I need it besides Verizon. They seem to be getting a "Ma Bell" mentality for those of us old enough to understand the title.
I would put good money on BB releasing 10.4.xx before we see 10.3.x
I know that condescending replies such as this one only make us angrier. You are releasing phones with the new updates on them, but will not release to the rest of us.
I would almost have a no comment from you as Verizon is all talk and no action. MA BELL for those of us to understand the comment.
They're likely too busy getting top down pressure to make Windows Phone #3 in the marketplace, even though, BB10 is far superior and people that truly use it, know it. Got a feeling, even VZW knows it, on the inside ;-).
Frustrate dedicated BlackBerry users enough, maybe they'll switch and BB will just go away...what they don't get is, won't happen, not here anyway. Heck, can't even find a BlackBerry device within sight in a VZW store around here. Have to first get through reps pushing/dealing crApple (sorry, not an NScrApple addict ;-)), then get through all the iPhone, iPad, etc super displays, then get through all the Droid, then get through all the Windows Phone displays, then you may find a BlackBerry buried in the back corner where no one is, and the reps have no idea how to use/promote the device to its fullest (we had to show them!). They don't even know what a Passort is when asked - yep, definitely up to speed on BlackBerry and in full support. Sad. Funny how BlackBerry rocks outside the US, even rated best OS, hmmm, so, what's the connection VZW? Who's demanding you bury BlackBerry BB10, and why are you obeying them?
If your support is sincere for BlackBerry BB10 and your BB10 customer base, get with the program and get 10.3 released to show that support! Talk of support is cheap, show it.
Maybe if the name were changed to iBerry?.......till then, all BB10 users will get is: "We know software updates are always exciting!", blah, blah, blah...
Passport (sp).
We went through this waiting for the 10.2 update last year. Verizon was the last carrier on the planet to provide that update. It is possible 10.3.1 may be available in 6 to 8 months, but given Verizon's track record, I wouldn't count on it. By the time (if) they make the 10.3.1 update available, 10.4 will be out, and again, Verizon will be way behind the curve. This is all too typical for Verizon. Their support for Blackberry has been almost non-existent.
BB opened up for more beta testers for 10.3.2. I tried to sign up. Unfortunately, Verizon subscribers are not accepted.
I have a GSM phone. I think I might activate it with Cricket and add a tracking program to see how coverage is. In theory it is ATT and should be close to Verizon.
May need to jump ship.
Verizon needs to realize that those of us who are part of a small user group are as important as IFruit and Android users.
I almost tried Cricket based on their coverage map. But, after hearing about many others having tried it in my area, I called Cricket. They told me that they didn't recommend me signing up because the maps were very wrong. I asked, "Why is Cricket covering the entire US almost?" They said they base the map on ATT's coverage, but that the actual coverage is very very sporadic. This confused me greatly. I went elsewhere.
It has been a month since the last reply to this thread? No 10.3 update yet. Any from Verizon care to help answer this question?
Reference Vzw-Rep's response in post #5.
Was that really your best answer Snn5? I was researching this myself. I guess we have nothing.
I re-reviewed the thread but was unable to find an earlier post that referenced any input you had contributed. I must have missed your question you asked that I answered.
verizonstinks powdah, this fails to answer our question. I have to use Blackberry and need to assess 10.3 on an international account. When?
Our choice, it is too walk and not look back, but I believe your coverage is globally better. Amazon app store is coming out of 10.3 LEAP, Z30's. Do you understand? Our customer has been waiting for this advantage for years. Better built device, security, convenience: all added to one complaint device. Sorry your marketing snoops will not get big data, if customers sandbox you. You have spread malware at an unbelievable rate.
Corporate assets do not need to be throw-away devices at $700+ and leak corporate data at an expense larger than this appliance costs.
Would love to get a new update on this from a Verizon admin soon. Just purchased a Z10 and would love to see the 10.3 update get pushed out to users sometime this summer!
First off, congratulations on your new BB Z10. It's a great phone, despite what the mass media is reporting about BlackBerry devices. My advice to you would be to take a surf out to crackberry.com and take a look at the threads concerning the 10.3.1 update. You'll find several threads that have step-by-step instructions on how to update your Z10 on your own. I also have a Z10 with Verizon and decided to take the plunge and do the update myself. I'm certain that Verizon would recommend against doing this, but, after thoroughly backing up the device, I applied the update. Version 10.3.1 is excellent. Being that we're in June and the first iteration of 10.3 was released in February, I'm uncertain as to when or even if Verizon will be releasing this update for first generation BB10 devices. That having been said, it is possible to do it yourself and it does work.
Enjoy your Z10! It was good on 10.2. It's even better on 10.3.
I also have a Z10. 10.3.1 made a big leap. 10.3.2 has now been released to ALL carriers. It is even better. Do not wait for MA BELL (Verizon) to release it. Your phone will be will past prime by then.
One thing I find interesting about our comments is that there is no Verizon rebuttal.
Does this help....
BlackBerry 10.3.2 and BlackBerry Blend 1.2 Coming to All BlackBerry 10 Devices | Inside BlackBerry
Now you have the data regarding the update.
Now, what will be VZW's excuse to continue to hinder its BB10 users?
I haven't received the update but Verizon's software update page says 6/16/2015 as the date blackberry Q10,Z10 and Z30 was updated so I will keep checking for the update. I don't know it its the 10.3.1 or 10.3.2.
It may just mean that their page was updated on 6/16/2015 to show there is still no update.
Here's the latest for the US...
BlackBerry 10.3.2 Available NOW in US for All BlackBerry 10 Devices | Inside BlackBerry
VZW? How long.......
