Why does the lcd break and on the glass front is fine?

Once there is physical damage, the manufacturer's warranty is no longer valid. We provide you with the cellular service, so the manufacturer would normally handle any replacement options, if this was a defect. If you have insurance, you can definitely replace it that way. Could result from drops or overheating. Cold moisture coming in contact with a hot LCD. Moisture on the LCD resulting in a short. Just a few ways this can happen.

Grace67,I'm terribly sorry to hear about your phone's screen breaking. A drop is the most common reason a screen could break but there are definitely others. Extreme temperature, setting something on top of the phone, or the phone being squeezed in some way could all lead to this. OP is saying that it is the digitizer, not really the screen. Glass isn't cracked, but the LCD is damaged. I think.
