Lollipop: Galaxy S4 'Favorite' Contacts - displayed poorly!

I have recently upgraded to Lollipop.

My Contacts are displayed in a "List' format as you would expect.

My "Favorite's" contacts appear as Icons rather than in "List" form.

The Favorite's Icons take up an excessive amount of space and all icons look the same as I have only assigned pictures to 3 contacts.

The "Favorite's" screen is no longer functional due to the confusing "non-descriptive" Icons.

The Icons take up WAY-TOO-MUCH screen real estate.

Is there a way to have my favorite contacts appear in a "List" form similar to the Contacts themselves?

It doesn't seem possible to do this, and there's no clear reason why the Favorites are listed in this unfortunate way. The problem has been noted on other threads, such as this one.
