Droid Reset During Normal Operation

Yesterday while on the phone my droid shut off completely and came back on going through all the normal boot up screens. I then noticed my ringtones quit working, my home and search keys quit working, my screen lock is no longer functioning, when I hit the power button the only option out of the three I used to have is now just the power off option, when I put it in the docking cradle the media/clock function no longer switches on, and some of my calls are going straight to voicemail(possibly because of my ringtone issue). Dang maybe that's all that's wrong with it.     WHAT HAPPENED TO THE BEST PHONE I'VE HAD IN MANY YEARS?

In the user manual there is some troubleshooting steps for a crash recovery for the droid. I have listed the steps below:

Crash recovery

In the unlikely event that your phone stops responding to touches and key presses, try a quick reset. Remove the back cover and battery then replace and switch your phone on as usual or you have the option on doing a factory reset in which will delete all settings to its original state. Here is the steps to do so:

 

To reset your phone to factory settings and erase all

the data on your phone, touch Menu > Settings > Privacy > Factory data reset > Reset phone

.Warning: All data on your phone will be deleted.
