When will Verizon push 10.3.1 to Z10? Other carriers have started.
BBZ10_Owner, Updates are very exciting and we want you to enjoy them as soon as possible. At this time we do not have a date for that software release. Please check http://bit.ly/n5snpq for any annoucements. SarahO_VZWFollow us on Twitter @VZWSupport
You can bet, before AT&T
According to Blackberry 10.3.1 went live today of course when VZW will push it out is anyone's guess, I hope before the 26th so that it's live when the Classic launches
Hey, this is Verizon you are talking about. It could be today (by accident, I got the last update that way) or it could be 2 months from now. Unfortunately for us, Blackberry isn't a favored device at Verizon.
I have a BB Z10 (Intl Roaming from India), using AT&T-Airtel in US. I got 10.3 update just now. Installing it now.
I am using BB Z30, on Verizon. They do not have any idea when Verizon is going to push 10.3 update :smileysad:
The problem for BBerry owners in the States is that with such a low market share, Verizon does not have to rush to get us the update, nor does Blackberry have to rush to get it to Verizon. I just wished that we could get official updates without having to go through the carrier. From Blackberry straight to the owners via Blackberry Link.
Is there a date when 10.3.1 will be available? I sure would like to get some notification. How long does this usually take on Verizon?
I've read others say that the last major update took about two months after BlackBerry released it. Several carriers worldwide have already begun pushing it out last week.
BB 10.3 is WOW!
Well should be in a few weeks since AT&T has already released it.
Hopefully that's true! Since they released the Classic today :smileyhappy: Blackberry should just make the updates available via their website rather than us having to wait on carriers with their option of giving us the update or not.
I think a lot of the problem with mainstream CDMA carriers getting the updates to you, is that Verizon or similar CDMA carriers have to put their own software into the phone, for their own Apps, etc. Essentially, they test run it and install their bloatware into the software and then push it onto your phone. The reason I think this, is because the first carriers to get the update, when you have a phone with them, they don't have much carrier added software put onto their phones.
It is now March, most of the world has been updated to 10.3.1. Verizon touts being a leader...falling short in this area. Can you atleast give us a time line ? There is a lot of productivity enhancements in this update, Big Red, you are holding us back !
From what I've read on Crackberry, Verizon can take their time with it. There are a lot of people who have BlackBerry's that have become paperweights after installing the new version of the OS. Lots of problems. I just upgraded from a Q10 to a Z10 and I'm very happy with it. 10.2 works like a champ. I'm excited about what 10.3 offers, but I'd much rather have a fully functional Z10 running 10.2 than a paperweight.
Yea I agree but a response from Verizon about a time line of when it will be released would be nice! Post here to make this thread noticed if you want Verizon to do something!!!
I would like to see all the benefits of 10.3 as well, but they couldn't even give us an advance date on a hardware arrival. Does anyone honestly think they're going to give a delivery date on a BB10 OS rollout? That's even more problematic than a new phone. Software testing and integration can be a tedious process. It all depends on how detailed they get with the testing. I'm guesstimating several months and then maybe. My advice is...revel in 10.2 and read the CrackBerry forums on all the people with non-functional phones who've loaded 10.3. Enjoy your fully-functional BlackBerry, comrade!
Why do you not have a date? It is already released so there is no real reason to hold it back. When an iOS update is release, you guys are all over it. Are you planning to release it? Do you even care about your BlackBerry customers?
This is true, BlackBerry pulled the update for Z30
https://n4bb.com/blackberry-pulls-os-10-3-1-update-older-devices/
Thanks for the link. This is why there are so many threads on the CrackBerry forums that address 10.3 issues being experienced by Z10, Z30 and Q10 users. As I said previously in this thread, it's better to have a fully-functional phone running 10.2 than a 10.3 paperweight. BlackBerry had obviously envisioned this OS update to work for older models, so it'll just take a bit more time for them to figure out what went wrong and fix it.
I'm glad I didn't try to load this OS update on my own through some website or link provided in the CrackBerry forums.
Has there been any word on the 10.3.1 update? It sounds like everyone else in the world has gotten the update before us!
From Verizon? No. But plenty being said on CrackBerry.com. Surf over and take a look. They've released two iterations recently. Most are reporting improvement over the first disastrous release, but still some folks who are encountering issues. 10.2 works like a champ! This is one situation where I'm more than happy to wait for a good version.
I totally get that it takes time to get the bugs out. iOS8.1 was a disaster, but the major carriers still pushed that out right away. Patiently waiting for 10.3.1.
Please push the 10.3 update. Or allow Blackberry to push to Blackberry LINK. Thank you.
After doing my own research, I understand there have been tons of issues with the 10.3.1 upgrade. Unfortunately, that happens in the tech world. My concern is that nobody is communicating anything to us "little people." I shouldn't have had to do my own research. Verizon is my vendor, and my interface to the Blackberry world. There should be updates on the main web page that say, "hey, we've tested the new code and it broke stuff, so we asked Blackberry for a release date for the fixed code, but haven't received anything." In short, discussions like this shouldn't even be necessary, because our service provider should be keeping us informed.
I think you explained the frustration well. The frustration isn't that I don't have the update. It is that there is absolutely no clarity about when it might happen, or why it is delayed. All I see are carriers from around the world updating their BB10 phones to 10.3.1 and I am stuck with 10.2.1. Well said molasses
We "little people" will never get that kind of detailed insight as to what's going on behind the scenes. The problem as I see it is that BlackBerry released a garbage update that wreaked havoc with their phones. BlackBerry has historically been notorious for making announcements about things, new devices, updates, etc., that don't materialize for some time after the announcement is made. Apparently their OS updates are following that pattern. 10.2 is rock solid and works great. I'm perfectly content to wait several months until they iron out all the bugs in these latest BB 10.3 OS updates. Check CrackBerry and keep reading the horror stories about people with Z30's and Z10's that are paperweights. It's just not worth trying to load until it's ready. Don't blame Verizon...blame BlackBerry. Verizon doesn't create BB10 OS updates for BlackBerry devices...BlackBerry does.
You'll know when it's ready when your Verizon BlackBerry tells you that there's an OS 10.3 update ready to download. It's tempting to download some of these pre-released updates through avenues other than Verizon's own update utility. My advice...steer clear! Read the stories on CrackBerry. Not good!
I write all these things as a Z10 owner. I've got a burning curiosity just as much as the next BlackBerry 10 owner, but at least right now...my Z10 works and it's solid.
Peace be to you.
I got tired of waiting and upgraded my Q10 and Z10 to 10.3.1 months ago using an autoloader file. These autoloaders are available through Blackberry fan sites like Crackberry.com. There's everything you need to know about upgrading yourself.
I'm currently running 10.3.1865 with out any problems.
Never - they want us to become Isheep
this is getting ridiculous. How can a major carrier like Verizon have no information on this yet? I run 3 BB devices on Verizon and will be taking my business elsewhere if I do not get some communication from this carrier.
You can bet that iPhone users and Samsung owners do not have to wait this long. Why does Verizon treat BB owners like second class citizens?
First they lied to me in the store saying they do not sell BB at all, either on line or in the store, then they try to talk me out of the purchase with misinformation regarding the new OS (bb10), then when I get the devices, I go to the store for a car charger and they tell me that my devices will soon be unsupported as Verizon is discontinuing all BB support.
Despite all this, I make my purchase(s), like my devices, and cannot get timely updates.
The least Verizon can do is issue a release with some information. This radio silence is unconscionable.
MA BELLLLLLOLLLLLLL
BB opened up for more beta testers for 10.3.2. I tried to sign up. Unfortunately, Verizon subscribers are not accepted.
I have a GSM phone. I think I might activate it with Cricket and add a tracking program to see how coverage is. In theory it is ATT and should be close to Verizon.
May need to jump ship.
Verizon needs to realize that those of us who are part of a small user group are as important as IFruit and Android users.
Have been reading the feedback on one of the 10.3 releases, 10.3.1.2726. For the most part, people are saying it's solid. After backing up my Z10 using BlackBerry link, I used the non-destructive Sachesi method to load up this OS. It's fantastic! Worked the first time. I'm on Verizon and running BB 10.3.1.2726! Overall, with one exception I like it much better than 10.2. The view on the calendar isn't as detailed as it used to be. You used to be able to see multiple dots on any given date that had multiple events. Now all you see is one dot on a date regardless of the number of events.
Overall...much better!
You can blame BlackBerry or you can blame Verizon, (Plenty of blame to go around. ) results in the end are the same, we've been waiting way too long for the update . Informational updates could have helped give us some feelings that we had some value as a BlackBerry customer. It is time for me for a new phone and the iPhone 6 is replacing my Z30. Good luck to all who waits....
Amazing! That's exactly what they want you to do...ditch your BB10 device for an iPhone! They'll probably remove this post...but here goes. Surf out to CrackBerry.com and search for:
When you've found that thread, the first page of it has the files you need. About six pages in, there's a step by step process of how to update your phone including how to thoroughly back it up.
I'm on Verizon with a BlackBerry Z10 currently running version 10.3.1.2744. I upgraded to 10.3.1.2726 and then went to 10.3.1.2744. It's much better than 10.2.
I was afraid to try this at first, but decided to go for it because of the frustration of waiting for something that I saw other people were saying was great. I've had an iPhone before. It's a fine product. I prefer BB10 however. That's what gave me the courage to pull the trigger and do this. My Z10 is like a brand new phone now.
In your post, you say you have a Z30. That's a better BB10 phone than my Z10! What a shame that you're going to ditch it because Verizon won't release the OS update. Oh well...I guess Verizon wins and some salesman gets a commission.
Can I have your Z30. I run my business through my phone, so it would be nice to have a spare while learning how to update with leaks.
BlackBerry announced that they are officially releasing 10.3.2 to all carriers. On CrackBerry.com, the files became available and I updated my Z10 using Sachesi two days ago. It's even better than their 10.3.1 release.
Which update did you load.
By the time MA BELL Verizon shows us some respect, I will be in the grave.
I updated to 10.3.2.798. There's a big thread about it on the CrackBerry forum. Been running solid for two days now. Updated from 10.3.1.2726. The calendar is better in this version and the phone seems to run quicker. Also, the typing experience on the virtual keyboard is improved. There are other bonuses also that I haven't gotten to yet. Good luck!
Been running 10.3.1, will now load 10.3.2 myself. Verizon will probably get us 10.3.1 when 10.4.5 comes out.
Verizon plzzz give 10.3 update. My friend iphone 5s got ios 8 update I m still 10.2 plzzz help ur blackberry users... :-(
