I updated my Galaxy S5 to Lollipop (5.0) using the recommended procedure the first day it was available. Since upgrading, my phone has developed the following persistent problems:
- I cannot maintain a Wi-Fi connection over 802.11ac. It tries to connect, then drops off. This repeats every minute or so.
- I no longer get a 4G LTE connection in my office at work and it drops to 3G. This did not happen before the update.
- The phone runs hot and will display the "Cooling Down" message several times a day.
- The battery depletes very rapidly. I get less than 5 hours of normal, standby usage.
- The phone runs slowly and sometimes hangs for seconds on simple actions. Menu actions are very slow. Sometimes I can't even answer a phone call quickly enough before the call goes to voice mail.
I have tried clearing the cache partition as recommended in other threads in this forum. It hasn't helped.
Performing a factory reset might correct these issues as others have noted, but that is not an acceptable solution. That action would require me to spend many hours reloading applications and settings and reorganizing the home screen folders and icons.
Verizon, please provide a reasonable, user-friendly solution!
Thanks.
