charger problems

my phone will not charge at all ive use numberous of charger even went and bought a brand new one and still my phone will not charge i called to see about getting replacement device i talk to serveral people and this one lady was going to send me a phone but it started charging well then i call back and talk to a different guy and he tells me they cannot replace is due to my screen being cracked he said thats probley the reason which i know thats not why cause its been crack since a couple days after ive got it and it charged just fine up till now so the man is saying i gotta go the my insurance comany to get a new phone but i dont think i should have because i know the crack screen has nothing to do with why my phone will not charger should i call and talk to someone else about it or just go ahead and order a new one threw my insurance even tho i do not really have $99 to spare so what should i do?

If there is any physical damage at all, Verizon will not warranty replace the phone as it is deemed to be consumer-fault.  You are probably right...the screen has nothing to do with the charging, but at this point Verizon would deny you an exchange and even if the first rep would have allowed you to do so, you would have wound up with at least a $299 charge for returning damaged equipment.  At this point it's a tough call.  I would pay the $99 to get a replacement through insurance because even if you had the screen repaired locally, you'd pay more than the insurance deductible.  You could always try to buy another phone, but I doubt you could for under $100.  Plus, if you ever Early Edged up, you'd have to turn in that broken phone, and you'd be in a bad situation again.
