can veriz message send text to non app users? no one seems to get my text since I installed it.

In installed verizon message on my phone and now when I send a message to my wife (on verizon) who does not have the app she does not receive the messages.  The only reason I installed it was being able to send text over wifi.  There is no cell or data within 10 miles of my home.

Lets get your text messaging working! Are you able to receive text messages through this app? Are you getting any error messages? What happens when you try to send a text message using the native text app?
