My new Blackberry Classic does not display any indication og waiting voicemails on my device screen. How can I turn this on?

I am missing voicemails because there is no indication of their presence on this device. How do I correct his?

That is very unusual! Has this always been the case on this phone? Are you using standard voice mail or visual voice mail?

I called Verizon Support and they deactivated Visual Voicemail and activated normal Voicemail and now. I have a voicemail indicator on my lock screen and Hub. It would have been a nice thing to have someone tell me that at the start with this new phone.
