Is anyone else having a major problem with dropped calls with the Galaxy S6? My S4 had no problems but my S6 shows weak signal and drops calls frequently!
I am having the same problems I am being told by verizon that others are not having problems. They have changed sim card and now a new device and Im still having problems. I just read having gone thru many forums the recommendation is to shut off advanced calling feature. I just did that we shall see.
Thank You
Are the dropped calls related to your location? My S4 was dropping all calls at my home. Same thing with my wife's phone. VZW CS checked my location and found out my home is located between two cell towers. I got a Network Extender and that solved my problem. The only drawback is you only have a 3G signal and you must have at least 1G of upload speed for the extender to work properly.
They told me to turn off advanced calling. I did and we'll see.
What did they charge you for the extender.
We are returning 3 with sa me issues.
I have shut off the advanced calling feature and the problem stopped go
figure
I am having the exact same problem. I travel the same route every day and this state of the art, top of the line phone does not perform as well as prior phones with connectivity. My callers tell me my voice fades away while speaking to them, and then sometimes the call gets disconnected. I love everything else about the phone but find myself miserable with people saying "are you still there?" Verizon has replaced the Sim card and also the entire phone, no luck. Verizon has started an investigation and has me dialing #832 every time this happens so they can see if it's caused by when the phone hands off the call to a new tower. Keep calling them people to let them know that this fancy Volte WiFi calling phone needs an update!
If you turn off advanced calling you lose mobile data transmission during a call. This means you can't access the Internet or any other functions until you either hang up the call or connect to WiFi. This may not be a big deal to some, but it's an issue for me.I stepped up to a new phone and I stepped back words with its functionality!
I agree, I didn't get a iPhone so not to lose that function. .
I found that turning off advanced calling has helped a lot not perfect but
much improved
Same problem - have tried HD calling on and off - still bad reception and dropped calls. I should have stayed with my Motorola Droid Maxx.
FYI I did change simm card, seems better. Well see.
I took all 3 back and went to the Motorola Turbo after 12 days. What a difference. Much better sound and no more dropped calls and lousy reception. We had the Maxx prior to the Samsung S6 with no issues. They will get you to try changing simm cards, turn this feature and that feature off, and I got tired of it. We had to pay re-stocking fee's but it was worth it. Too bad as we all liked the phone. Bells and whistles but phone calls was terrible.
I just got the phone a few days ago and work out of my home. If you can believe it I "upgraded" from my Blackberry which I loved actually but the apps situation or lack thereof had finally become a problem. Now that I have this fancy new phone and got used to it, the battery life is much worse and the reception is horrific. I have one bar maybe 3G and I can almost see the tower from my house. I'll do as others have suggested and call but from looking now at blogs on all carriers it seems to be a major problem.
I had Motorola too and loved it-upgraded to the S6 and I'm totally frustrated. The signal goes from 4G with 3 bars to no signal at all while sitting on my kitchen counter! What the heck is going on with this freaking phone? It drops calls all of the time-sometimes after only a few minutes and then gets hung up on the call. The only option at that point is to restart the phone since it won't respond to any touches on the screen. Phone also randomly restarts whenever it wants. I'm ready to tell Verizon that they can keep their fancy new phone-this is not an upgrade.
Turning advanced calling on or off Does not work. Husband and I have same exact phone. His advanced turned off, mine on, calls still drop constantly.
